We competed in Ann Arbor last weekend. It was my first tournament since the MAC (about 2 months ago) so yeah I was a little rusty with competition. I won my first match and then lost my second match to a kid I knew from juniors, he just outplayed me that day and he went on to win his next match and lost to the #2 seed, so I don't feel too bad with the results. I guess I was a little hard on myself for not doing better, but remember it has been a while since I competed.
Ann Arbor was pretty cool though. Friday, when we went up, we checked in and then met up with my friend Rahul at 1 of 2 Jimmy John's in their downtown/campus area. The hotel was good and the tourney was good, it was just really hot!
Another issue is my knees. They won't seem to get better. My mom wants me to stop competing for the rest of the summer, rest the knees and get them prepared for the actual college season, rather than bang them up more in these tournaments. Part of me knows she is right and that I should let my knees heal (if they will), but the other part of me just wants to play and train and get ready for these tourneys...ehhhh injuries!
